Teacher's Manual Second Grade Unit, The Land I Live In, MY COMMUNITY was published 1971 by The Navajo Social Studies Project. It is one of a series of Navajo-culture-based social studies units produced by The College of Education of The University of New Mexico in cooperation with The Division of Education of the Navajo Area, Bureau of Indian Affairs. A unit was prepared for each of 13 grade levels, beginners through 12. The book has thick paper covers, measures 19" x 12 3/8" with 36 pages, cover and 12 interior illustrations by Le Roy Condie. It has 12 teaching lessons with vocabulary and guides.
